World habitat day is dedicated to helping people build adequate shelter for themselves and their families. The United Nations designated the first Monday and October as world habitat day. The first world habitat day was officially recognized in 1985. The true spirit of world habitat day is usually exhibited by spending some time helping out your local Habitat for Humanity organization.
